Transformer oil: It is a fractionation product of petroleum. Its main components are alkanes, cycloalkane saturated hydrocarbons, aromatic unsaturated hydrocarbon and other compounds. Commonly known as Fangpeng oil, it is a light yellow transparent liquid with a relative density of 0.895. Freezing point<-45 ℃.

Transformer oil is a kind of mineral oil obtained from distillation and refining of natural oil. It is a mixture of pure and stable liquid natural hydrocarbons with low viscosity, good insulation and good cooling properties obtained from the lubricating oil fraction of oil through acid and alkali refining. Commonly known as Fangpeng oil, it is a light yellow transparent liquid.

Transformers are important equipment for power transmission and transformation. Once problems occur, the losses are severe, so the power industry attaches great importance to the operation of transformers themselves. Transformer oil mainly plays the role of insulation, heat dissipation, cooling and protective insulation materials in transformers, reactors and mutual transformers, but it also plays the role of arc extinguishing in case of arcing in the above equipment; Mainly used for insulation in oil filled casing; In the oil switch, it plays a role in arc extinguishing and insulation.

As the insulating medium in power equipment such as transformers, transformer oil plays a role of both insulation and heat dissipation in distribution transformers. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen patrol inspection according to the specified period, listen to the sound of transformers in operation, observe the level and color of oil level, and deal with problems in a timely manner when they are found, so as to ensure the safe operation of electrical equipment such as transformers and maximize the reliability of power supply.

Normal treatment of transformer oil

1. If the oil level is too low, the transformer insulation will be reduced. At this time, we must apply for power cut in time, add a certain amount of qualified transformer oil, and add it to the scale specified by the transformer oil oil conservator.

2.If oil leakage is found, a power outage should be applied for in a timely manner and handled as soon as possible. Firstly, identify the cause and point of the oil leakage. If any leakage is found from the upper cover, tighten a large screw at the upper end; When oil seeps out from the high and low pressure bushings, the screws that fix the porcelain bushing should be tightened; If oil seeps out from the gear, the gear cover should be opened and the fixing screws inside should be tightened; If the insulation pad is aging, the insulation oil pad should be replaced by hanging the core.

3. According to the regulations of the National Grid Operation Regulations, the distribution transformer oil oil after being put into operation must be subject to a voltage withstand test once every 1-3 years, and records must be kept for future reference. If the transformer oil fails to meet the technical requirements, it should be filtered or replaced as soon as possible.

Transformer oil, also known as insulating oil, refers to mineral insulating oil of natural diameter mixture refined from petroleum. Transformer oil is widely used in transformers, circuit breakers and other equipment, such as various transformers (power transformers, rectifier transformers, furnace transformers, test transformers, mining transformers, grounding transformers, electrostatic precipitator transformers, etc.), bushings, current transformers, voltage transformers, voltage regulators, reactors, arc suppression coils, coupling capacitors, multi oil circuit breakers, low oil circuit breakers, column oil circuit breakers Starting compensator capacitors, cables, etc. Transformer oil is easy fuel oil, so it generally does not include synthetic oil, that is, non fuel oil and high ignition point oil. Otherwise, there are two types of oils: polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and fluoro oils, while high ignition point oils include silicone oil α Oil β Oil, M oil, polymer α Alkene, dodecylbenzene, E-oil γ Oil. The ignition point of transformer oil is 165 ℃, while the tender point of high ignition point oil is above 300 ℃, so it will not ignite without fuel oil. High ignition point oil, also known as flame retardant oil, is mainly used in high ignition point oil immersed transformers, flame retardant oil on load tap changers, capacitors, cables and other occasions. The non fuel based polychlorinated biphenyls, which are carcinogenic and toxic, have been banned, while fluoro oils are rarely used due to their high price and limited availability. However, some manufacturers now refer to high ignition point oil as high ignition point transformer oil.

At present, the widely used insulating liquid is mineral oil transformer oil. Transformer oil has been used in electrical equipment, especially in oil immersed transformers, for more than 100 years due to its excellent electrical, physical and thermal properties. In 1887, Thomson obtained a patent for transformer oil, which was called lubricating oil at that time. In 1892, it was applied to transformers by General Electric Company in the United States. Due to its high demand, each large transformer requires 50-60 tons, with superior quality and technical and economic indicators, making it durable and always occupying the dominant position of transformer liquid medium. The electrical strength, chemical composition and dielectric loss of transformer oil directly affect the insulation performance of the entire electrical equipment. The decrease in the flash point temperature of transformer oil and the increase in acid value are caused by the decomposition of oil caused by local overheating of electrical equipment. The reduction of transformer oil breakdown voltage and the increase of dielectric loss can indicate that the transformer is affected with damp. Therefore, it is necessary to study the performance and changes of transformer oil for the safe and reliable operation of electrical equipment.

The electrical strength of pure transformer oil reaches 200-250kV/cm, 4-7 times higher than that of air. Therefore, using it as insulation can greatly reduce the volume of the transformer. Because paper and paperboard are rich in raw materials, cheap in price, good in mechanical strength, and high in electrical strength after immersion in transformer oil, when the oil is broken down, the insulation can be restored without leaving a permanent discharge channel, transformer oil has been widely used. Transformer oil has high insulation strength and is mainly used as insulation medium in electrical equipment. Because of its large specific heat capacity, it is also used as cooling medium. It is used as arc extinguishing medium and cooling contact in circuit breaker, on load tap changer and starting compensator. In high-voltage cables, oil plays a role in filling and impregnating to remove gas inside the cable and improve electrical strength. In oil-immersed paper capacitors, oil plays a role in filling, crushing, and insulation to improve capacitance and insulation strength. Due to the fact that the arc extinguishing intensity mainly depends on the oil gas mixture generated by the decomposition of oil gas. This type of oil pressure reduction will not significantly reduce its arc extinguishing ability, so the oil requirements for low oil circuit breakers can be lower than those used in transformers.
